Based on interviews with wounded soldiers, medical teams, and unique archival war footage, “Recovery Room” follows the journey of dedicated Canadian volunteers, plastic surgeons and nurses at the Main Military Clinical Hospital in Kyiv who helped to make a difference in the lives of wounded soldiers, victims of Russia’s invasion of eastern Ukraine. The medical missions were organized under the auspices of the Canada Ukraine Foundation. The award-winning documentary progressively unfolds events from its beginnings, to the illegal annexation of Crimea, Russia’s invasion of eastern Ukraine and the current ongoing war.

“Recovery Room” includes an eye-witness account of the tragic death of U.S. army veteran volunteer soldier, Mark Paslawsky “Franko” during a battle in eastern Ukraine, the only American fighting in the Donbas Battalion.
