Holodomor Mobile Classroom Launched

On November 24, 2015, The Holodomor National Awareness Tour launched the Holodomor Mobile Classroom at Queen's Park.

Bishop Stephen Chmilar of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bishop Andriy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada, MPP Yvan Baker, Ukrainian Canadian Congress President Paul Grod, past Chair of the Canada Ukraine Foundation Bob Onyschuk, among others, joined Minister of Education Liz Sandals in cutting the ribbon in front of the Holodomor Mobile Classroom. The launch was also attended by MPP John Yakabuski.

The Holodomor National Awareness Tour is a project of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation supported by the Government of Canada and the Governments of Ontario and Manitoba, to raise awareness of the Holodomor. The Holodomor Mobile Classroom is a state-of-the-art mobile learning space designed to educate and engage students and the public across Canada about the Ukrainian Holodomor. The Classroom provides a 60-minute, facilitator-led educational experience featuring a film on the Holodomor and a complementary learning activity on tablets. The Classroom can accommodate up to 33 students.
