Lydia Migus, Executive Director of Valour Place Society, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in nonprofit organization management.

Utilizing her rich mix of business and non-profit sector applications, Ms. Migus offers unique professional skills to her current position. Valour Place is a temporary residential home that provides “hope away from home” for Canadian soldiers, veterans, RCMP, first responders and their families while in Edmonton, Alberta for medical treatment and rehabilitation. Understanding that success of recovery depends not only on receiving the best medical care, but also on having family and loved ones close by, Valour Place opened in October 2012 and is the first home of its kind in Canada.

Ms. Migus is also the executive coordinator at the Ukrainian Cheremosh Society, where she is regularly tasked with reviewing and identifying organizational strengths, and developing and implementing administrative, operational, promotional, public relations, fundraising and marketing strategies for the organization. The Ukrainian Cheremosh Society encompasses one of the leading dance companies in Canada – Cheremosh, and the Cheremosh School and Academy of Ukrainian Dance, offers extensive training and educational services to recreational and elite and dedicated dancers.

Greatly inspired by the positive differences she makes in peoples' lives, Ms. Migus has seen many professional successes throughout her career. A qualified professional in her field, she received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Carleton University. In her spare time, she volunteers with several cultural and philanthropic organizations. In the future, Ms. Migus hopes to continue growing with her current organizations.
