New Help Us Help The Children Web-Site

Jul 15, 2014 | Community, Newpathway

A new, user-friendly, Help Us Help The Children (HUHTC) website, designed by Adriana Luhovy, was launched June 30, 2014. [quote_left]“Using the Internet, social media and having a website that makes you want to keep coming back, is the best way to connect people to a worthy cause. It’s about exposure, and bringing an excellent initiative such as the one Ruslana [Wrzesnewskyj] developed, one step closer to reaching more people on a world-wide scale,” [/quote_left]stated Luhovy.
Еhis year’s HUHTC summer camp is one of the most important ever. It will welcome close to 400 children to the Carpathians from various regions, where they will attend interactive workshops focused on developing life-skills. They are inviting children from war-affected areas, including refugee children from Crimea and Crimean Tatars. “Everyone has been affected by the violence. One of our volunteers, Sashko Kapinos, who taught the children dance last year, was killed on the Maidan in Kyiv during the revolution”, she continues.
[quote_left]“I truly hope this site gives HUHTC New Help Us Help The Children Web-Site an opportunity to re-gain the funds they would usually collect through organized fundraising campaigns. The organization suffered a tough blow this year, losing one of their volunteers…The children in the orphanages are very affected. I hope this site allows HUHTC to fundraise using another avenue of support – electronically, and reach more people. It’s really one of the most important years for them, to make sure the kids stay safe at this time.”[/quote_left]
The web-site includes interactive donation pages, the ability to “buy a train track” bringing the children’s train closer along a path to summer camp; sign a virtual t-shirt, etc.
Luhovy is grateful to Sylvie Monette of KPMG who “had a vision to create positive change, and … believed in this humanitarian project, sponsoring the website.” Major donors include Ottawa Senators’ owner, Eugene Melnyk, The Temerty Family Foundation, Ian Ihnatowycz and Marta Witer, Chopivsky Trust, Toronto Firefighters Toy Drive and Toms Shoes. The web-site can be viewed at www.huhtc.org.
