One Person Dead Following Fire at St. Andrew’s Selo

One person is dead after a fire at the St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Selo senior’s home on the evening November 9.
The fire was called in at 10:22 p.m., with six crews on scene at the at height of the fire, Maya Filipovic, speaking on behalf of Edmonton Fire Rescue Services, told the Edmonton Journal.
The home was partially evacuated as the fire was contained to one suite,
“I’m so proud of our seniors,” Marlene Krokosh, Chief Administrative Officer of St. Andrew’s Selo told New Pathway Ukrainian News.
“Last night they were stellar. They listened very well. They evacuated great. I was just really proud of them.
The cause of the fire was attributed to human mishap.
