Leader of the Official Opposition Erin O’Toole on November 21 issued the following statement:

“Today, Canadians of Ukrainian descent and Ukrainians around the world will reflect on the lessons of Ukraine’s Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity, by celebrating Dignity and Freedom Day.

“We will always stand with the people of Ukraine in their efforts to build a united, prosperous and democratic country.

“Under my leadership, Canada’s Conservatives are proudly supporting our long-standing policy of non-recognition of the occupied territories of the Donbas and Crimea by Russian troops and proxies.

    Democracy will always prevail.
    “Slava Ukrayini!”
