As of November 20, a Boeing 777 airliner will once again serve Ukraine International Airlines’ (UIA) route from Toronto to Kyiv.

Karl Müller, Canada Director for Airlinepros – the General Sales Agent for UIA in Canada, explained that the switch from B767 to B777 is due to the strong market demand with a more than 80% load factor in low season.
UIA initially planned that the route would be served by the B767 for the concluding 2019/initial 2020 winter season, but heightened demand from leisure and business segments on UIA connecting routes via Kyiv have resulted in this adjustment remaining in place until further notice.
Business class
Müller added that this change means an additional 1,200 seats a month available, on top of the current monthly 3,000. The B777 has a three-class service, Business, Y Premium and Economy.
The flight serves those who go to Kyiv or Toronto and as a connection to destinations in Ukraine (ten cities including Kyiv), Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia. Throughfares from other Canadian cities, such as Ottawa, Montreal, Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary and others, are available to connect at the Toronto Pearson Airport due to UIA’s agreements with WestJet and Air Canada.

Currently until December 1, 2019 – Toronto to Kyiv:
2 x week: Wednesday & Saturday Departure 23:15 Late evening – Arrival next day Kyiv 16:05 local time.
As of December 02, 2019 until early April:
3 x week: Tuesday early morning 00:15 + Wednesday & Saturday Departure 23:15 late evening
Economy class
Many Ukrainian Canadians have over the years flown with other airlines with connections to get to Ukraine. To encourage the Ukrainian Diaspora, UIA have launched a few seat sales during 2019 such as the current promo exclusively to Ukrainian domestic cities from Toronto, connecting at Kyiv.
