The UCC Montreal branch and Quebec Provincial Council held its Annual General Meeting, unanimously re-electing as president for a fifth term, Z. Hrycenko-Luhova. The meeting began with one minute of silence in memory of the passing of UCC members as well as in memory of the sacrifices being made in Ukraine’s struggle today.
UCC Board for 2014-15 include chairperson B. Klecor-Hawryluk; secretaries L. Hawryliw and O. Kulishova; treasurers Y. Kulycky and A. Dragan; vice-presidents B. Klecor-Hawryluk, M. Hrushovska, M. Putko; representative Northern Quebec, J. Slobodian, and others.

In the UCC president’s report for 2013-2014, among the events highlighted was the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Holodomor, the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko, the 100th anniversary of Canada’s National Internment Operations, etc.
Based on a study and proposal by O. Humenny, discussions are continuing regarding the creating one Ukrainian Centre in Montreal that would house all organizations.
UCC-Montreal is currently organizing its annual independence banquet on August 24th, with guest speaker, journalist, M. Gongadze.
