UCC Toronto: Statement to the Community on planned bus cuts to Eastern Rite Schools

UCC Toronto education committee is engaged in a dialogue with TCDSB trustees to communicate our concern for the proposed transportation cuts to the Eastern Rite Schools for 2016-2017.

The UCC is working with the CSPCs (Catholic School Parents’ Councils) from all three Eastern Rite schools (Josyf Cardinal Slipyj, St Demetrius and St. Jospahat) and will be sending a delegation from all three schools and the broader community to present our concerns at several upcoming TCDSB board meetings.

What can the community do?

1. Concerned parents should contact the CSPC chair at their school to add their support to the issue and find out more information.
2. Parents and community members should plan to attend the upcoming board meetings to show their support for the delegation presenting and for the schools overall.These meetings are planned for June 2, June 6 and June 9, all starting at 7pm, and all at the TCDSB offices.  The meetings take place in the second floor board room, which is visible from the elevators/stair area in the foyer.

3. Parents and community members seeking further information should attend an update meeting being held by UCC Toronto on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at 7pm in salon B of the UNF hall (Evans & Islington).
